Tallulah Gorge is approximately 2 miles long with cliffs up to 1,000 feet high. Water from the Tallulah Falls Lake flows through the gorge and over six separate waterfalls. Although this is a State Park, the water flows are controlled by Georgia Power Co. for their downstream power generation station and the waterfalls are most spectacular when large releases are allowed.
