The historical stone building of Mountain Crossings on Blood Mountain was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1934-1937. This is the only building on the 2,175 mile Appalachian Trail that actually sets on the trail itself with the trail passing thru the stone structure. The Mountain Crossings store provides a great source of hiking gear to the over 2,000 hikers to attempt the Georgia to Maine hike each year.
