Longwood mansion

Longwood is a six-story, 30,000 sq. ft. octagon mansion that was being built by plantation owner Haller Nutt in 1861 but was interrupted by the Civil War and never finished. Haller died in 1864 and his family continued to live in the first floor but did not have the money to finish the other five floors. It is significant example how the War changed life in the South.
