Florida's East Coast Parks - jimsislandphotography
Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park is on the east coast of Florida in St. Lucie County. It is one of only 19 inlets on the east coast from the Atlantic Ocean to an inland harbor. The park includes a half-mile stretch of white-sandy beach on the ocean and picnic grounds along the inlet waterway. This area was used during WWII as a training ground for the U.S. Navy Seals with as many as 140,000 personnel stationed in the area.
