SOAR Key West

The first annual Southernmost Openhouse & Aviation Review (SOAR) event was held at the Key West International Airport on February 5, 2011. With dozens of planes on display ranging from a 1931 Stearman, a B-25H Mitchell Bomber, a 1958 Eastern Airline DC-7 to the latest modern marvels, the event had something for everyone to enjoy. And in February, there is nowhere else in the country you would rather be than in Key West.

One of the highlights of the show was this restored Eastern Airlines DC-7B. Built by Douglas Aircraft in 1958, this 50 passenger airliner presents a wonderful look at what air travel looked like before jet engines and computers dominated the skies.
